Darling Downs Skip Bin Hires up to 21- days unless otherwise pre-arranged, however we do flexible hire periods if you require additional time. The additional hire days will increase the price of the skip bin hire. However, offering upfront payment reduces administration costs and can also reduce the cost of the skip bin hire. 

The Hirer is responsible for the skip bin once bin has been delivered, Any Damages or Defacing of the bin will be at the hirer’s expense, we will not negotiate said cost with third parties to reclaim cost. 

Delivery Access- minimum access to place Skip Bin is a height clearance of 4m and width clearance of 3m. If access is denied or blocked on delivery/collection date and we must return at a later date, then the additional $100-00 call out fee applies. This fee will be charged/ deducted as per the original order payment. 

Placement of the Skip Bins – is at the driver’s discretion, this is due to our Public Liability requirements. This is a policy under our insurance company and Occupational Health and Safety Requirements. If we are unable to safely unload the skip Bin, then the $100 call-out/ futile Fee will apply. 

Only Fill to the top of the Skip Bin- Only fill to the marking indicated on the skip bin, any overfill may be left behind or we will inform the Hirer to repack the bin. (A $100 call-out fee / Futile Fee Applies)

Overweight Charges apply if the skip Bin is overloaded or over the allocated weight allowance, these charges are payable at $250.00 per 1000kgs over. Darling Downs Skip Bin Hire retains the right to leave any overfill excess waste behind, the customer will be informed prior to leaving waste behind. 

Please note we face fines for unsafe/overloaded or overweight loads. 

Damage to skip Bins – Any damage during the term of hire period is at the customer’s expense. 

NO FIRES TO BE LIT IN THE BIN.

Skip Bins will not be placed on Roadways or concrete footpaths without a valid permit, we do not supply permits it is the responsibility of the hirer to obtain their own permits.

Permits- Permits are to be sourced by the customer. 

Skip Bins are not to be moved- Skip Bins are not to be moved from the delivery position, access to the skip bin must be maintained to allow safe collection of the bin. Failure to comply will incur an additional $100.00 call out fees will apply. The hirer is responsible for any cost to get the skip bin to a position that we can then safely remove.

RESTRICTED WASTE IS NOT TO BE PLACE IN THE SKIP BIN.

NO Asbestos – No Tyres– No Liquid or Hazardous Waste –No wet Concrete 

No Paint – Fuel – Oils – Batteries – Tree Stumps – Food waste- Nappies 

Failure to comply will incur additional fees. 

Contaminated of loads fees- The hirer is liable for any additional fees for all separation and dumping fees, any asbestos found in our bins will be charged an additional cost of $3000 to the Hirer. 

If you have fibro that is from a house that was built before 1990 it may be contaminated with Asbestos. The Hirer will need to get it tested and supply us with a inspection before loading it into the skip bin. 

If Asbestos is found in the skip bin- after the bin has been tipped you the hirer will be liable for all additional decontamination cost, asbestos impacted material disposal charges, environmental penalties, clean up and transport costs. You the hirer will also be liable for any E.P.A fines and charges. 

The Hirer is liable for cleaning fees to remove any wet concrete, paint, plaster, fuels, oils that disfigure the interior or exterior of the bin. There will be additional fees charged to the hirer.

Payment of skip Bin Hire- is to be made prior to or on delivery of skip bin, we will not remove any waste until full payment is made including additional daily charges.

To extend the hire of the skip bin period- we need to be contacted preferably by email/phone 24hrs prior to collection. An additional $70.00 per week hire fees apply. Note: Only able to extend hire if we confirm bins are available.

What can you throw away in a skip bin?

Skip bins may be hired for mixed waste removal or specific types of waste. Skip bins are generally hired for:

. General waste, including light domestic waste, light construction waste or office waste.

. Mixed heavy waste, including domestic, commercial, demolition, construction, and renovation materials.

. Green waste, such as grass, leaves, tree trimming, small branches weeds and bark. 

What can’t you throw away in a skip bin?

. Hazards materials such as asbestos or chemicals that need to be disposed of properly.

. Food waste and other materials will decompose quickly. 

. Tyre, glass bottles and other materials that should be recycled appropriately.

. Oils and oil-based paint, which should be taken to a used oil facility.
